ECM TRANSPORT Saves the Earth and Local Animal Shelter by Participating in Paper Retriever Recycling Program

Pittsburgh, PA (April 30, 2009) – As part of our green initiative, ECM TRANSPORT participates in the Paper Retriever Recycling Program to make our community a cleaner, better place to live. 

ECM TRANSPORT and The Paper Retriever Recycling program benefit the environment and community through the recycling of catalogs, office paper, magazines, newspapers, and mail.  By recycling these types of paper, an organization reduces the usage of energy, landfill space, and water. 

In 2008, ECM TRANSPORT employees recycled 2.85 tons of paper, saved 19 cubic yards of landfill space, and saved 11,667 kilowatts of energy.  In turn, Paper Retriever Recycling donated the proceeds from this program to ECM TRANSPORT’s charity of choice, Animal Protectors of Allegheny County which is a no-kill, non-profit, shelter located in New Kensington, PA.
